I think that this was just announced today but it is a very interesting development. Zazzle now provide a screenprinting service. Zazzle as you may or may not know is a POD where you can set up your own shop (for free) add designs and sell t-shirt through them. Sounds like a sales pitch. It’s not. There are tons of PODs to choose from. Just look at this list of PODs. I do recommend Zazzle though, in fact I will go out on a limb and say that it is the best POD on the internet for people who want to set up shops.
Now POD guys, don’t get too excited. You won’t be able to sell screenprinted tees from your Zazzle store. Your Zazzle stores will still be DTG (or embroidery). I thought I would mention that just in case it wasn’t obvious.
Here are the good points:
- Shirts as low as $2.98/shirt
- Produced in 3-5 business days
- Perfect for groups, clubs, and events!
- No set-up charges
Sounds good but expect to pay a lot more for shirts that $2.98. I haven’t checked it in too much detail but from what I have seen I think that to get the $2.98 per shirt deal you will have to select the cheapest shirt they have, print one color only and here’s the kicker, order 6000 of them. Probably not too many of you interested in ordering 6000. Perhaps Threadless but I am pretty sure that they already have someone to take care of their needs.
The other aspects are awesome. Fast turnaround is something that I know some screenprinters need to work on. Watch the video above to see how easy Zazzle is making it for you to get things done.
I know that some of you may be worried about the quality because PODs are often criticized in that area. (My POD t-shirt orders have all been awesome with long lasting prints from both Zazzle and Cafepress.) But I think you needn’t worry because I have t-shirts that were screenprinted by Zazzle and they are awesome. In fact I am wearing one at this moment. (That reminds me, I need to review a few more of their screenprinted LABz tees.)
Another cool thing about Zazzle’s new service is the selection of t-shirts. They have a ton to choose from so you can print on a variety of t-shirts easily. Anyway, check it out yourself and if you do order from Zazzle let us at Tee Reviewer know about how it went.
